Here's a delightful cherry strudel cake recipe passed down from my grandmother. This cherry strudel cake is a perfect blend of sweetness and tartness, making it a delightful dessert for any occasion! Enjoy!

Cherry Streusel Cake

Recipe:

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups sifted flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 can (1 lb 6 oz) cherry pie filling


Topping: 

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour


Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well (batter will be very heavy). Spread about 3/4 of batter in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Pour pie filling down center of batter. Spread filling over batter gently, using a spatula. Drop remaining batter from spoon over filling. Spread gently and swirl over all. Combine ingredients and sprinkle on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
